That classic monochrome veining will step aside to reveal other glorious rock patterns that are just as beautiful and channel the organic movements found in onyx and jade as hyper-realistic, stone-style tiles. ‘Recently, the trend for dramatic stones such as onyx in the bathroom has grown as we become braver in design,’ says Louisa Morgan, creative director at Mandarin Stone. ‘The cost, size and thickness of the real semi-precious stones would be prohibitive, so pioneering digital technology has been able to replicate the look of these amazing natural materials onto tiles. The movement and detail created is impressive and the repeat patterns are minimal so you rarely see two tiles alike, adding to the realistic and eye-catching nature of these pieces.’
