5 JADE HUES

From high street to high end, this green is interior’s most desirable shade

-

Highly popular during the art-deco era, jade green is enjoying a revival and shaking up interiors right now. Jade traces its roots right back to stone formation (we love the high-shine appearance of jade gemstones), but its emergence as a colour to watch began during the catwalk shows of SS20, where soft jade was all the rage. Earthy, yet fresh, fun and distinctive, this colour is appealing in so many ways. Here’s our round-up of pretty pieces sporting this stupendous shade.

SIDE HUSTLE

Taking a form that looks a little like an oversized spring coil, this stoneware side table is a new piece to join Rockett St George’s summer line-up. Put this striking jewel anywhere… in fact, why not put it everywhere? It’s so easy to move around and style up in a multitude of different rooms and environments, and it’s stomping in with a fantastic price tag. This is one piece that needs to be snapped up – and quickly. Hurry, hurry! Stoneware side table in Green, £115, Rockett St George (rockettstgeorge.co.uk)

SHAPE SHIFTER

The handmade Hex Plain tile looks divine in jade. East London-based brand Otto Tiles & Design shows it here on the floor, but it would work equally well working its way up a wall in a kitchen, bathroom or contemporary living room. Hex Plain in Bosco, £134.40sq m; (on wall) Herringbone in Multi, £151.20sq m, both encaustic cement tiles, Otto Tiles & Design (ottotiles.co.uk)

A GLASS ACT

Mckinney & Co specialises in finials, brackets, door furniture and the most divine curtain poles and curtain tie-backs. Spotted on display and part of its latest collection at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour are these flower glass tie-backs, finished, of course, in on-trend jade green. Honing in on the design detail, these beauties are made from six layers of coloured glass, all a slightly different shade of jade which results in an ombre effect. GT27 flower glass tie-back, £594 per pair, Mckinney & Co at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour (dcch.co.uk)

TOP TABLE

Marking the Big Dining Table’s 10th anniversary, Italian design brand Bonaldo has curated a distinctive version in green. There’s lots of things to talk about here. The top is constructed from Verde Saint-denis marble and the base is a concoction of striking shapes best described as an optical illusion. The colours are vibrant, the shapely form is striking and oh my how we want one! Big Dining Table 10th Anniversary Edition in Verde Saint-denis Marble, £13,242, Bonaldo at Chaplins (chaplins.co.uk)
