FAVOURITE DESIGN BRAND?

Ben: Obakki. Everything is handmade, stunning and the proceeds help support communities around the world gain financial independence. They made the wall hanging in the living room next to the piano, as well as many of the accessories in this home.

GO-TO COLOUR FOR A WALL?

The colour is all about the room and the feeling you want. However, I always seem to gravitate towards blue tones. I love Raccoon Fur by Benjamin Moore for a smoky feel.

DREAM PIECE OF FURNITURE?

The Asymmetry sofa by Pierre Yovanovitch. I love how it is both angular and rounded and I feel like it will stand the test of time.

BIGGEST DESIGN MISTAKE?

One mistake I try not to make very often is not trusting my gut. While I recognise compromise is often the name of the game when working with homeowners, when I feel like it won’t work, I am usually right.

IDEAL DECORATION MATERIAL?

Fabric. I often start with the fabric and build an entire colour story for the home.

ESSENTIAL DECORATIVE ACCESSORY?

A combination of bowls or vessels smartly placed on a table (either coffee or dining table). The trick is varying the size and not placing them directly in the centre. It can completely change the look of a room and will be the final touch you need.

“Design is about bending your expectations and exploring things not commonly used”
