Architects Ross and Emma Perkin of Emil Eve set themselves a tricky brief with their own extension – to have glass doors in an L-shaped kitchen to fit into an L-shaped garden, which didn’t have a post in the middle blocking the view. It was doable, but only just . ‘We designed them ourselves,’ Emma says. The sliding doors are solid oak, and Emma worked closely with the joiner. ‘We also integrated hidden blinds to maximise the feeling of openness.’
