SOFT WAVES

It’s the notable ‘artisanal trace of hand’, as Romo describes it, that so suits the interlocking lines flowing across woven raffia in this print. In a muted and warming ochre colour, it delivers cosiness in spades. Part of the new Tabala collection – a striking line-up of similarly elegant and graphic wallcovering designs – its earthly characteristics and tones make it perfect for autumninspired interiors.

One might say it’s the natural choice. Boa wallcovering, £835 a roll, Romo (romo.com)

DIFFERENT STROKES

Conjuring notions of the deep ocean, this water-like pattern brings an inky blue and white colour palette into the fold, giving an extra air of sophistication to furniture. The pattern is said to be inspired by ‘the billowing sails of traditional Omani sailing boats’ and it has us transported straight to the sea – time to take a seat! Inky Dhow Ripple armchair, £9,000, Bethan Gray (bethangray.com)

WOVEN WONDER

Sweeping onto fabric, the new Valvidia print embodies the trend with gusto in bold orange. While the textile is just one of this season’s contemporary designs from French fabric house Casamance, it’s certainly the pattern we’ve underscored as a firm favourite. Valvidia fabric, £138.60m, Casamance (casamance.com)
