MINNIE’S SHOPPING PICKS OF THE MONTH

HATS OFF

Although it’s a lightweight piece, the Petite Friture Vertigo pendant makes a big statement and will give any space a chic feel. I used this chandelier in my design for The Soho Hotel – the contemporary light floats above an antique butcher’s table and creates a lovely contrast in the living room. It makes me think of that La Bomba hat by Jacquemus – so big it’s almost absurd (but nonetheless fabulous). petitefriture.com

FINE ART

Sema Topaloglu is known for her dedication to materials, craftsmanship and a unique aesthetic vision. I discovered her work at Salone del Mobile in Milan at the Alcova exhibit – her delicate hand-blown glass lights stood out against the crumbling ex-army barracks surroundings. I think she is a genius and I’m desperate to get my hands on her work; they just look good enough to eat! sematopaloglu.com
