12 cars broken into in one night

POLICE in Llanelli are appealing for informatio­n after 12 vehicle break-ins in just one night.

The thefts took place across the Bigyn ward on the night of Tuesday, August 14, with various items being taken from inside.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoma­n said: “Police in Llanelli are appealing for informatio­n following a series of thefts from vehicles in the Llanelli area.

Motorists in the town are now being reminded to lock their vehicles and not to “make it easy” for thieves.

Sergeant Craig Wilkins said: “All the vehicles targeted were left insecure.”

“Sometime on the evening of Tuesday, August 14, or early hours on Wednesday, August 15, at least 12 insecure vehicles have been entered and various items stolen.

“The crimes have taken place in the Bigyn ward, which covers Penyfan and Trostre area and also in the Walters Road and Marble Hall Road areas of Llanelli.”

Motorists are now being reminded to lock their vehicles and not to ‘make it easy’ for thieves.

Sergeant Craig Wilkins said: “All the vehicles targeted were left insecure.

“It is worth reminding motorists to ensure their vehicle is locked and secure when unattended.

“Thieves will be on the lookout for an easy target. Don’t make it easy for them.”

Anyone with informatio­n on the crimes, or CCTV that might assist the investigat­ion, or who may have noticed any suspicious vehicles or people in the area is urged to call Llanelli police on 101.
