Young farmers boost lifesavers

-

DAFENBASED Wales Air Ambulance has been boosted by a young farmers club.

Members and friends of Ystradfellte Young Farmers Club were delighted to present a cheque for £11,554.07 to Wales Air Ambulance last week.

The funds were raised at a tractor run, auction and raffle held in June.

The fundraising efforts started with 69 tractors taking part in a 30-mile, circular route from Ystradfellte to Heol Senni, Penycae, Coelbren and Pontneddfechan, passing attractions such as Maen Llia, the National Show Caves, and Henrhyd Falls.

Wales Air Ambulance Community coordinator Annie Lawrie said: “We would like to thank the Ystradfellte Young Farmers Club for their incredibly generous donation.”

An air ambulance spokesman said: “The incredible amount raised will help us to continue out lifesaving work.”
