100 years remebered There will be a programme of events for the community of Pontarddulais and Hendy held during October November and December to commemorate the end of the First World War which ended 100 years ago. Many young men from the local community took part and lost their lives. There will be an exhibition, plus there will be a special rememberance concert and, of course, the traditional temeberance parade. This year the local group of volunteers that are organising these events are hoping to lay thousands of poppies with a special casade of poppies which will be laid at the cenotaph in Pontarddulais. They are asking locals to knit or make their own poppies from fabrics.
