Robbins leads the way as Dunvant open up in style
DUNVANT are up and running after the opening weekend of the season following a 37-15 win at Hendy.
Mark Robbins crossed twice and he was followed over the whitewash by Richard Lewis, Adam Gregory and Mitchell Ford as Dunvant took maximum points.
Adam Williams-Parry wrapped up the victory with two penalties and three conversions.
Hendy responded with tries from Richard Kinnear and Chris Nazy. The remaining points came from the boot of Rhydian Morris.
Gowerton also opened with a bonus-point victory as they saw off Kidwelly 29-17.
Jack Soloman and Johnny Rees both went over twice, with Gareth John adding a fifth try. Josh Hamer kicked two conversions.
Kidwelly had Jeven Barnes and Luke Thomas on the scoresheet, with Owen James kicking seven points.
Llangennech ran in five tries in their 31-17 win over Aberystwyth.
Brendan Wood scored more than half of Llangennech’s points with two tries and three conversions.
The other tries came from Tom Barnes, Matthew Jacobs and Rhodri Davies.
Aberystwyth fought back through Lee Gower and Arwel Lloyd tries. Steffan Rees kicked seven points.
Reigning champions Felinfoel started with a nervy 10-6 win at Llanelli Wanderers.
Gorseinon got off to a bad start as they lost 27-20 to Whitland. Jac Gronow added the conversions to tries from Alex Popham and Alun Evans before adding two penalties.
But 17 points from Nico Setaro inspired Whitland to victory. Gino Setaro and Mark Jones bagged their other tries.
The other game saw Crymych scrape past Tenby United 20-19.
