Llewellyn is Banwen hero
BANWEN made an excellent start to the Three West Central B season as they blew Pontrhydyfen away 56-8.
Anthony Llewellyn added two conversions to his hat-trick of tries in the stylish victory.
Craig Holloway, Simon Herdman, Jacob French, Jamie Elkins and Sam Evans added further tries, with Evans kicking six conversions.
Luke Joyce bagged a consolation try for Pontrhydyfen while Morgan Kennerley kicked a penalty.
Baglan opened with a 22-10 win at Rhigos. Sam Owen crossed twice and Alex Philpott added a third but they just missed out on a bonus point.
Ryan Compton kicked two conversions and a penalty to complete the scoring.
A tight match between Cwmllynfell and Alltwen ended with the latter claiming a 20-19 victory. Jordan Hopkins and Ceri Jones crossed for Alltwen, with Liam Byrne kicking nine points.
Peter Thomas kicked four penalties to add to a penalty try for Cwmllynfell, which was enough to claim a losing bonus point.
Crynant were beaten 58-0 at Bryncethin, with Briton Ferry losing 50-12 to Pontycymer.
Cefn Cribwr beat Glyncorrwg 13-6.
