Williams, Harrison in cup success

CARMARTHEN Golf Club’s seniors played for the popular Aggett Cup.

Playing exemplary betterball golf and dovetailing perfectly, Alan Williams and Clive Harrison scored an outstanding 48 points.

Playing in the same group were last year’s winners Len Davies and Clive Thomas, who put up a great defence of their title and finished second with 44.

In third place with 41 were Alan Edwards and Robert Lincoln.

Twos were recorded by Len Davies, Rob Lincoln, Mick Fenney, Clive Thomas, Rodri Davies and Alan Edwards.

The junior section also had a successful week, cleaning up on the prizes and being crowned Dyfed team champions for 2018.

Iestyn McAvoy won the individual order of merit boys’ championship, Megan Thomas took the girls’ order of merit and Bryn Thomas successfully defended the County Championship.

The David Cup 4bbb was won by Paul Davies and Marc Thomas with 46 points.

In second place were Ian Griffiths and Rhodri Davies with 43 and third were Huw Phillips and Robert Lincoln with 40.
