Cwm pay for a dismal start

-

CWMAMMAN United went down 4-1 to Llandarcy in division one of the Neath Football League.

The damage was done in the first half, by which time Llandarcy had opened up a 3-0 advantage.

Cwm’s only real chance came when Ryan Hurlow fired over the bar from close range.

The second half saw Cwmamman make several positional changes, with Nathan McNeil switching from defence to striker, Rhys Morgan moving into midfield and Hurlow moving out wide.

Hurlow had chances to score but was denied on several occasions, but he did win his team a penalty after being tripped in the area.

McNeil’s spot-kick was parried by the goalkeeper, then he fired the rebound over the bar.

McNeil made amends for his penalty miss as he turned the Llandarcy defence and drove his shot into the Llandarcy net to reduce the deficit to 3-1.

But in the closing stages Llandarcy wrapped up the points with their fourth goal.
