Ammanford lose a thriller
AMMANFORD Town are still looking for their first win of the season in Welsh League division one.
Town were promoted from division two last term, but have only a draw to shout about from their first three games after they were on the wrong end of a 5-3 scoreline in a thriller at Cwmbran Celtic.
Nick Glendon gave Ammanford an early lead with a stunning goal and, after going 3-1 down, they battled back valiantly to draw level at 3-3 thanks to efforts from Rhys Fisher and Ben Soal.
However, their efforts were in vain as home goals from Owen Cook, Chris Ham, Josh Bull, Louis Feeley and Glendon — into his own net this time — earned maximum points for Celtic.
In division two, Garden Village took the lead, then had to battle back from 3-1 down to earn a point as they drew 3-3 at Aberbargoed Buds.
Nathan Logan scored a hat-trick for Village, including a penalty, while keeper Jacob Ireland also saved a Buds penalty.
