Medal bonanza for top shooters
SEVERAL members of the Carmarthen Rifle & Pistol Club took part in the recent junior international competition held in Bisley.
Representing Wales were club members Steffan Herdman, Alex John, Siwan Burrell, Lucy Thomas, Jasmine Philipps-Kindred and Elena Philipps-Waring.
Lucy Thomas, no stranger to the podium, came away with two silver medals and one bronze for the Grand Prix, while Siwan Burrell, who was representing Wales in the junior international for the final time, came away with two golds and two silvers.
The club members and their coach John Kelman were very pleased with the results.
In mid-September Burrell, Thomas and Herdman are flying out to Ireland to represent Wales in the Commonwealth Shooting Federation competition, which is equivalent to the Commonwealth Games but is just for target shooting.
