MUSICAL SMASH TO HIT CINEMAS

THE Palladium production of The King And I starring Oscarnomin­ated actor Ken Watanabe and Tony award winner Kelli O’Hara has been filmed for a global cinema release.

The Rodgers and Hammerstei­n musical will be shown in cinemas in the UK on November 29.

The production broke the Palladium’s box office record earlier this year for the biggest grossing week, taking just over £1 million in just eight-performanc­es.

BLUE STAR’S CHICAGO ROLE

HOLLYOAKS actor and Blue singer Duncan James, right, is to replace Martin Kemp in the West End production of

Chicago.

He will play lawyer Billy Flynn opposite Alexandra Burke as Roxie Hart at the Phoenix Theatre in London from September 10.
