Sympathy Is extended to the family of Peter Smith, formerly of Knockingstone Kennels. Mr Smith had not been in the best of health for some time. The funeral will take place in Llanelli Crematorium tomorrow. Sympathy and condolence to all family connections and friends. Over-50s Club The Mynyddygarreg Over-50s Social Club met at Mynyddygarreg Welfare Hall on Wednesday, September 5, at 2.30pm. There were 22 members present which included officers. Absent, due to unavoidable circumstances was chairwoman, Jean Fox and vice-chairwoman Marian Lewis. The chairman for this meeting was Brian Morris and also in attendance was Christine Hughes, treasurer and Regina Morgan, secretary and savings officer. The meeting opened with recitation of the Lord’s Prayer. Minutes were read by Regina Morgan and passed as correct. Christmas dinner was discussed and suggested a venue. Brian Morris will arrange availability. Tea hosts were Brian and Caryl Morris and tea and biscuits were served by members. Tea hostesses for October are Miriam and Dorothy. A game of bingo was played and won by Regina Morgan. Birthday
greetings were given to members whose birthdays are in September and get well wishes were also sent to members who are indisposed. The meeting closed at 3.40pm and the next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 3, at 2.30pm. Birthdays Happy 21st birthdays to two of our young sportsmen. Callum Price, who now resides in New Zealand, is the grandson of the late Cliff and Elaine Price, Gwalia. Callum Smith is also 21 this month. He is the grandson of Fred Smith and the late Pam Smith of Horeb Road. Best wishes to both of them.
Ty Golau This is a meeting of people with memory problems meeting at Mynyddygarreg Hall every Wednesday morning from 10.30am to noon. Get well Glad to hear that Margaret Hughes of Cheriton is improving after her second knee operation. As villagers we wish her well and a speedy recovery. Bingo Sessions are held at Parc Gwenllian, Mynyddygarreg Rugby Club every Thursday evening at 7pm for 7.30pm.
