Gowerton set pace at summit

GOWERTON are the early pacesetter­s in One West following their 22-15 win at Dunvant.

Luke Davies, wing Anthony Osborne and flanker Matthew Cherry led the attack with a try apiece, while fly-half Paul Spowart kicked the rest of the points.

Dunvant bagged two tries with centre Mark Robbins and No. 8 Craig Hawkins going over. Fly-half Richard Lewis added a conversion and a penalty, which proved only enough to take a losing bonus point.

Felinfoel joined Gowerton at the top on nine points with a 39-25 win over Llangennec­h.

Gowerton go up against neighbours Gorseinon next, while Felinfoel travel to Aberystwyt­h.

Gorseinon are up and running after a comfortabl­e 43-14 win over Hendy . Llanelli Wanderers saw off Kidwelly 22-11. Hendy will look to grab their first win of the season against fellow winless side Tenby United on Saturday.

Llanelli Wanderers host Dunvant and Kidwelly go to Llangennec­h.

Elsewhere, Whitland sealed a narrow 13-11 win at Tenby United while Aberystwyt­h were 19-15 winners against Crymych.
