Hughes grabs brace as Pen­clawdd storm to win

PEN­CLAWDD made it 10 points from 10 with an­other bonus-point vic­tory in Two West, this time thrash­ing Mum­bles 55-24.

Jonathan Hughes spear­headed the at­tack with a brace of tries and he was backed up by Danny James, Ed Cur­tis, Tom Devon­ald, Kris­tian Cor­bisiero, Rhys Ea­ton and Jack Pether­bridge.

Dan Guarneri sealed the win for Pen­clawdd, who will be look­ing to re­turn to One West at the first time of ask­ing, with 15 points from the tee.

Car­marthen Ath­letic are one of two sides — Pem­broke are the other af­ter beat­ing Fish­guard 17-16 — on nine points fol­low­ing their 22-0 win at St Clears.

Steff Jones, Dan Evans and Rob­bie Thomas got the tries. Carl Wil­liams kicked two con­ver­sions and a penalty.

Last sea­son’s Three West B cham­pi­ons Burry Port are up and run­ning af­ter a thump­ing 38-10 win over Loughor.

Mi­ca­iah Jones crossed twice and wing Owen Thomas and re­place­ment fly-half Ce­iron Thomas also touched down.

A penalty try ex­tended their lead fur­ther, with full-back Gareth Rees adding the fin­ish­ing touches with three penal­ties and a con­ver­sion.

Prop Rob Thomas and flanker Tom J Davies hit back for Loughor.

Tum­ble found the win­ning for­mula with a 20-3 suc­cess over neigh­bours Pon­ty­berem.

Jonathan Lloyd, Liam Wil­liams and Sam Jones all went over for Tum­ble, with Steff Pryce kick­ing five points.

Rho­dri Lewis added a penalty for Pon­ty­berem, who had Del­frig Tre­harne sent off.

Else­where, Pon­tard­du­lais beat Ty­croes 21-10.

Aled Stone kicked 11 points, with Phil White and Josh Goss adding tries.

Shane Roberts con­verted Steff Jones’s try for Ty­croes and added a penalty.
