Carter’s class shines through in Resolven victory
RESOLVEN and Birchgrove lead the way at the top of Two West Central with nine points from a possible 10.
Steff Williams was the star as Resolven beat Seven Sisters 28-17 in a battle between sides who were relegated last season.
He was among the try-scorers along with Anthony Lee and Richard Carter, who has won the Premiership with Merthyr.
Iwan Jones, Kyle Evans and Dewi Edwards hit back for Sisters, with David Harris adding a conversion.
Birchgrove claimed a bonus-point win with a 24-0 triumph over Morriston. Adam Rowlands, Rob Scrine, Ritchie Beynon and Nathaniel Llewellyn all went over for Birchgrove.
Porthcawl, who are aiming for a third consecutive promotion, made it two wins from two with a 16-6 win over Nantyffyllon.
Jacob Thomas and Owen Thomas claimed the tries. Ben Thomas added two penalties for good measure.
Cameron Jones kicked two penalties for Nantyffyllon.
Taibach bagged a 33-21 win over Cwmavon. Aaron Jones had a productive afternoon as he claimed 21 points through a try, two conversions and four penalties.
Rhys Corcoran added another try, with a penalty try completing the scoring.
Robert Hayden, Steve Williams and Dan Gully hit back for Cwmavon, with Neil Gadd kicking three conversions.
Ystradgynlais were beaten 18-0 by Builth Wells and Nantymoel claimed a 22-14 victory at Pencoed.
