DREAM START CONTINUES AS LEADERS EASE TO THIRD WIN

IT has been a dream start to the season in the LTC Mobility Carmarthen­shire League Premier division for Evans & Williams, who made it maximum points from three league games when defeating Carmarthen Stars 2-1 at home.

Stars also went into the game boasting a 100% record, but it was the home team who stamped their authority in the early stages when taking the lead through Stephen Green in the 20th minute.

Jonny Thomas headed past the keeper from a corner to extend the advantage on the half-hour, before the visitors pulled one back eight minutes later.

Defending champions Bwlch Rangers got off the mark when accounting for visiting Pengelli United 2-1.

All three goals were scored in the second half, with Clayton Jenkins netting both for Bwlch.

After conceding 12 goals in their opening two defeats in the division, Pwll Athletic bounced back to beat promoted Gorseinon Athletic 3-2 on their own ground.

Kevin Evans scored two of the goals, and there was one from Scott Morgan.

A goal from Brandon Davies helped Killay defeat visiting Dafen 1-0, while Trostre Sports made it nine points from three games following a comfortabl­e 5-1 win at home to Pontarddul­ais Town.

Trostre started the game in the best possible way, taking the lead inside a minute through Nick Jenkins. Two goals inside the first 11 minutes of the second half from Ashley Lewis put the home team in control.

The visitors continued to come under pressure, and Jamie Jenkins and Sean Rogers added further goals.

Chad Tinnuche, Kris Brown and Simon Griffiths found the net for Trallwm in the 3-1 away win against Tumble United.

CK Swiss Valley have made an impressive start to their campaign in division one and boast a 100% record after an 8-1 win at home to Abergwili. Marcus Edwards shone with a hattrick.

Dan Evans scored two, and there were goals for Robert Owens, Luke Limbrick and Shane Richards.

Llandovery Town claimed three points when defeating visiting Caerbryn 4-0. The goals were shared between Chris Hyde and Ryan Bailey.

Newcomers Carmarthen United claimed their first maximum, winning 4-1 at Hendy in division two.

Striker Sion Jones netted twice in the opening half before going on to complete his hat-trick. Also on target was Richard Williams.

The Gwendraeth Valley derby between Drefach and visiting Carway finished in a 1-1 draw. A goal for Drefach by David Williams was cancelled out by Zak Hartley’s effort.

In reserve division one, four of the goals for Evans & Williams in their 6-1 win at Pengelli United were split between Craig Richards and Lucas Thomas. Also on target were Calden John and Ethan John.

Striker Chris Jones made his mark with a hat-trick for Loughor Rovers Reserves in a 5-3 win at home to neighbours Gorseinon Athletic Reserves.

The other goals were scored by Jonny Thomas and Mike Hayward.

In reserve division two, Trostre Sports made it two from two with a 5-3 win at Trallwm. The goals were scored by Jonny Thomas, Ian Stanlake, Dale Rees, Dominic Lewis and Elliot Lloyd.

There was one tie in the second round of the TG Davies Cup, which saw Loughor Rovers knock out Llanelli Park Rangers 7-0 in their own back yard. Jack Jones led the way with a hat-trick.

Calum James, Louis Jackson and Kieran Hassett also netted, while Loughor also benefited from an own goal.

There was plenty of action in midweek, and in the Premier division Evans & Williams caught the eye with a 9-1 win at home to Pwll Athletic.

Jonny Thomas bagged a hat-trick. Chris Davies netted twice, while there were single goals for Rory Johns, Ben Williams and Corey Borthwick. The home team were also gifted an own goal.

Carmarthen Stars defeated Tumble United 4-0 with Sam Wilson scoring twice. Alex Thomas and Thomas Harvey also found the net.

Trostre Sports defeated a young Seaside team 7-2 at home.

Four of the goals were shared between striker Chris Waters and Corey Thomas, while also on target were Nick Jenkins, Ashton Jones and Liam Jones.

The Seaside youngsters stuck to their task, and were rewarded with a couple of consolatio­n goals from Jack Watkins and Mark Smolka.

Pengelli United fought back to win 2-1 at Killay. Both goals were scored by Luke Rees, who equalised from the penalty spot before half-time before grabbing the winner after the break.

There was a hat-trick for Dan Rees which inspired Gorseinon Athletic to a 7-4 win in the home derby against Pontarddul­ais Town.

Aaron Bushrod was on target with two of the goals, and there was one each for Lee Blake and Gareth Phillips.

Pontarddul­ais replied with a couple of goals from Liam Owen, plus one each from Sam Thomas and Nick Jones.

Bwlch had to settle for a point from a 1-1 draw at home to Dafen. After taking the lead through Matthew Hughes, Bwlch were denied by a late equaliser.

In division one, Johnstown proved the stronger in winning 6-3 at Abergwili.

Glen Fearn and Sion Daniel Jones struck a couple of goals each for Johnstown, while Scott Thomas and Kyle Davies also scored.

It was one-way traffic for most of the 90 minutes as Ammanford Town strolled to a 5-0 win at Caerbryn.

On target were Callum Humphreys, Callum Lovatt, Ben Soal, Chris Gregory-Evans and Kyle Grazette.

Pontlliw produced a solid performanc­e in defeating Camford Sports 3-1 in their away clash.

The goals for Pontlliw were scored by Dan Oxenham, James Howells and Luke Michaels with a penalty.

Kidwelly Town claimed maximum points from the home clash against Pembrey, winning 4-1.

Rob Hammond netted twice for Kidwelly, and there were goals from Aaron Forey and Jordan Howells.

Bancffosfe­len were made to battle for a 3-1 win at home to near-neighbours Carway in division two. Man of the match Aaron Lewis capped an excellent display with two of the goals, with Liam Richards netting the other.

Llangennec­h claimed a 4-2 win at CP Suburbs. Their pressure was rewarded with goals from Jack Yelland, Mike O’Mara, Joe Brown and Jon Dakin.

The points were shared between Carmarthen Town United and visiting Drefach, with the game ending 1-1.

Trailing to a strike from Tom Butler at the interval, the home team equalised through Llew Eldred.

There were hat-tricks for both Stewart Hemmingway and Curtis Evans which helped West End United to a 10-0 win at Llanelli Park Rangers.

The other goals were scored by Curt Bowen, Steffan Thomas, Leon Goddard and Steve Preece.
