Macmillan coffee morning On Saturday from 11am to 3.00pm Pontyberem Workingmen’s Club hosts a charity coffee morning for Macmillan nurses. There will be tasty cakes, coffee and tea with various stalls to raise funds for the cancer support appeal.

Coalbrook Surgery Flu Clinic Patients over 65 years and under 65 in an ‘at risk’ group are eligible for a free flu vaccination. From the first week of October flu vaccines will be given to patients registered at the surgery on Mondays and Wednesdays noon to 1pm and 5pm to 6pm until supplies run out. The Wonder of Elvis Tickets are on sale for London’s Denmark Street Big Band production of Elvis Presley by international cabaret star Delvis on Saturday, October 6, in the Memorial Hall from 7pm. Sinfonia Cymru Concert The eminent professional youth orchestra of Wales performs at the Memorial Hall on Saturday, October 13, from 7.30pm. Orchestra leader and violin soloist Caroline Pether will direct the recital. The programme includes Eric Whitacre’s October, Grieg’s Holberg Suite, the Adagio for Strings by Barber culminating in Ravel’s The Four Seasons.
