PROMOTION JOY FOR GORSEINON

-

THE final acts of the 2018 outdoor bowling season took place last weekend with three outstanding matches in the Llanelli & District Bowling League completed.

The main focus was on the match between Calsonic Wanderers and Gorseinon with the visitors having to avoid a defeat by at least 47 shots to confirm their return to the Premier division next year.

Keeping the match tight with fewer than 10 shots separating the two sides for the 21 ends, Gorseinon finished the task by taking two points on Nigel Williams’ rink.

Divisional champions Loughor finished off their year with a home win against Burry Port, while Parc y Dre and Ammanford Park ended their season at Peoples Park with the visitors coming out on top.

Many players now transfer to the indoor scene at centres in Ammanford, Carmarthen, Llanelli and Swansea.
