BARGOED ........................ 14 CARMARTHEN QUINS...19

CARMARTHEN Quins captain Haydn Pugh was delighted to seal back-to-back victories thanks to their win at Bargoed, but expressed his disappointment at missing out on a bonus point.

Nick Reynolds, Dale Ford and Torin Myhill got tries for the Quins with Aled Thomas kicking four points.

Jordan Howells and Alex Herbert crossed for the Bulls with Josh Prosser adding both conversions to bag a losing bonus point.

Quins tried to push for the fourth bonus-point clinching try but it didn’t come.

“It was a fantastic win, back-toback victories and we go again at Cardiff next week,” said Pugh.

“It was tough, they did well to slow our ball down.

“We were happy to get the win, it’s what we came up here to do.

“We are disappointed with no bonus point but the win was always the biggest objective.

“Bargoed really put us under pressure in the last 10 minutes.

“We always knew it was going to be tough to come up to Bargoed and I think we came out of the blocks well.

“We’ve got some players who have played at the top level and some youngsters coming through and it’s only getting better and better.” BARGOED  Tries: J Howells, A Herbert; Cons: J Prosser (2).

CARMARTHEN QUINS – Tries: N Reynolds, D Ford, T Myhill; Cons: A Thomas (2).
