Starting to undo MCP

LAST year I wrote a letter highlighting Carmarthenshire Council’s lack of promotion of the Millennium Coastal Park, a project that Llanelli Council worked so hard to achieve.

The centre point of the project was the Discovery Centre which was the main visitor centre where the hundreds of thousands of visitors to the park would come and learn about the attractions available throughout the park.

We now find Carmarthenshire Council is going against this fundamental principal of the park in that there will not be a Discovery Centre as the latest planning applications show that the whole building is to be given over to becoming a restaurant.

I find this situation unacceptable, the council is now starting to undo parts of the MCP, this visitor centre is essential as the central part of the park, the Discovery Centre must remain as it was initially intended to be.
