Jones strike ends Cwm’s excellent run

CWMAMMAN United suffered their first loss in four games as they were defeated 1-0 at Taffs Well in division one of the Welsh League.

Cwm made the trip east with hopes high of building on their fine start to the season, which saw them defeat near neighbours Ammanford the previous week.

But Warren Jones’s 35th-minute goal earned the hosts their first win of the season.

Cwmamman tried to find a way back into the contest, hitting the woodwork twice and having claims for a penalty turned down.

Cwm, who remain fifth in the early-season table despite Saturday’s reverse, host Llantwit Major on Saturday.

Their opponents have one win and three draws from their six matches to date.
