Impressive victory lifts Ammanford to the summit

-

AMMANFORD are joint top of the Carmarthenshire Junior League Under-15s division with Seaside after three games following their impressive 5-1 win at Johnstown.

Ammanford took the upper hand and Osian Davies provided two perfect crosses for Cian Williams but he headed both just wide. The first goal soon came with a well-taken freekick from Tyler Davison. No. 2 soon followed, with Osian setting up Scott Pugh for his first.

Ammanford should have put the game to bed, but just before the interval the outstanding Kieran Brook made a great save to keep it at 2-0.

The second half was pretty much the same as the visitors looked sharp in all areas.

Kellen Edwards, Iestyn Richards, Steffan Thomas and Rhydian were superb at the back, and with the sharpness of Kieran and the pace of Rhyds and Kellen the attacks were frequent, using the width well.

The midfield trio of Tyler, Callum Thomas and Ethan Morgan helped settle the play and kept the formation in great shape. Wing men Cian and Osian were causing problems and with Scott up front Johnstown had to dig in, but goal No. 3 came when Osian assisted Scott for his brace.

Ammanford then brought on Harrison Davies, Mathew Waugh and Jack Chapman off the bench, and Ammanford were caught napping and an own goal made it 3-1. The visitors rallied, but Jac put away goal No. 4 from a neat pass from Scott.

Iestyn blasted a free-kick from 40 yards that produced a great save, but Mathew stuck it away to make it 5-1.
