Halloween fun disco This Friday from 6pm to 8pm Pontyberem Memorial Hall hosts a children’s fun Halloween disco. Entry fee £1.50. Church services St John’s Sunday Eucharist 9.30am; Wednesday Eucharist 9am. Eglwys Y Groes Sunday Mass 8.30am; Friday Mass 9.30am.
Pontyberem heroes To mark 100 years since the First World War ended, this year’s Remembrance Sunday, on November 11, from 2pm to 4pm in the Memorial Hall, sees a unique presentation of photos of local soldiers, letters, film, songs and stories of the 1914-1918 conflict. The 42 fallen young men named on the village war memorial are joined for the first time by 70 others who survived. Entry is free, with light refreshments in the interval. The event is not suitable for young children.

Kids Cinema Show Hotel Transylvania 2 is on the big screen in the Memorial Hall on Thursday, November 1. Doors open 5pm; film starts 5.30pm. Ticket price £3 includes a hot dog and drink. If you want to bring a bean bag, cushion or blanket for the children please do so. The event is run with Cylch Meithrin Pontyberem.
Pontyberem Over-50s Members gathered on October 9 for their monthly meeting in the Memorial Hall. Brenda Lewis, in the chair, opened proceedings by leading with the Lord’s Prayer in Welsh. Get well
