Chat show to make county bow

A NEW se­ries of S4C’s hit rugby-themed chat show Jonathan is kick­ing off and the first episode will see pre­sen­ters scrum­mag­ing down at the chan­nel’s new head­quar­ters in Car­marthen­shire.

Trim­saran-born rugby leg­end Jonathan Davies, sports pre­sen­ter Sarra El­gan Easterby and renowned ref­eree Nigel Owens will be at Canol­fan S4C Yr Egin in Car­marthen to give their own oval­shaped view of the world in a se­ries that co­in­cides with the au­tumn in­ter­na­tional sea­son.

The se­ries be­gins on Fri­day at its usual 9.30pm slot and will of­fer the per­fect taster for the clash be­tween Wales and Scot­land which will be live the next day on S4C.

It is the first time that the show Jonathan will be broad­cast from Car­marthen­shire and the team are look­ing for­ward to be­ing at the new me­dia hub.

Jonathan said: “Af­ter spend­ing 14 years in Cardiff, it’s an ex­tremely ex­cit­ing pe­riod for us mov­ing to S4C’s new head­quar­ters in Car­marthen.

“You can ex­pect some of the same old items, as well as new ones too, but one thing is for sure, rugby is still at the core of the pro­gramme. The three of us are very much look­ing for­ward to be­ing the first tele­vi­sion se­ries to be filmed at the state-of-the-art me­dia cen­tre.”

This se­ries line-up is full of guests from the celebrity and sport­ing world who will be ready for a fair bit of leg-pulling, as­tute ques­tion­ing and of course the tra­di­tional ‘Kick­ing be­tween the Posts’ chal­lenge.
