Pair caught with £3k of cannabis
A LLANELLI pair were caught with cannabis with a street value of more than £3,000 when police searched a house and its garage.
Luke Camden Chatfield and Eleri Sian Evans were stopped by police while driving through Bynea on October 23 last year.
Cannabis was found and a further search of a house saw almost 500 grams of the drug seized by police.
Chatfield, aged 30, of Cae Terrace, and Evans, aged 31, of Dolau Court, pleaded guilty to possessing 497.81 grams of cannabis with intent to supply, when they appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Chatfield also pleaded guilty to a charge of producing three cannabis plants at the property.
Prosecutor Catherine Miles said: “Weighing scales were found, a grinder, three cannabis plants and equipment to cultivate growing, including lights.”
She added: “The value of the drugs was found to be £3,129.67.
“This is not suitable to be dealt with at the magistrates’ court as the sentencing powers are insufficient due to the amount of cannabis and also the commercial supply scale of it. It is classed as street dealing.”
The magistrates’ bench granted Chatfield and Evans unconditional bail until January 2 when the case will be heard at Swansea Crown Court.
