Card designs bring festive cheer
DESIGNS from the competition to produce Llanelli MP Nia Griffith and AM Lee Waters’ Christmas cards are now on display in Llanelly House.
The exhibition features many of the high-quality entries from local schoolchildren on the theme of ‘snowman’ and will be open to the public through till Christmas.
After careful consideration, the judges decided that the designs submitted by Talieah Bevan from Maes y Morfa and Oliver Davies from Swiss Valley were the winners. Framed copies of the winning designs will be given to the pupils who made them and their schools, both of which will also receive a £100 prize. This year’s competition was sponsored by the Llanelli-based Parker Plant Hire.
The winning designs are featured on the MP and AM’s Christmas cards, along with other entries singled out by the judges for commendation.
The runners-up in the infant category are Sophia Suter (Ysgol y Felin), Thea Ashford (Maes y Morfa) and Oliver Dunne (Swiss Valley), and the junior runners-up are Isla Jenkins (Ffwrnes), Freddie Courfield (Ffwrnes) and Tegan Treharne (Ysgol y Felin).
