Horeb Another reminder that, if you wish to contribute towards Horeb for 2018, could you please take or send your contributi­ons to Meryl Trussler, Dol Gerdd, Meinciau Road, Mynyddygar­reg before or by December 16. Monies received after this date will be included in the 2019 accounts. Your co-operation is greatly appreciate­d for all monies to be banked before Christmas. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Get well Many of our villagers are not in the best of health at the present time. Among them is Lorraine Strain, who is a hospital patient at present, and Beryl Williams, Hillcrest, who is not very well, and many more to whom we, as villagers, send get well soon wishes and hope they’ll all be better by Christmas. Brysiwch wella.

Notice board Please take note of the notice board at the entrance to Mynyddygar­reg Park. This was given in memory of the Mynyddygar­reg Silver Prize Band and was officially unveiled by the Mynyddygar­reg schoolchil­dren. Also in memory of the band is the short book Yr Utgorn Olaf (The Last Trumpet) now for sale from Mansel Thomas, Ty Gwyn, or other ex-members of the past band committee. Congratula­tions To Robert Ryan, son of Carol (nee Owens) and grandson of Cecil and Anne Owens of Newtown, Mynyddygar­reg. Robert has been away in Preston for five years studying and he has been successful in gaining a diploma in the Elite Company of Farriers. Well done, we are all proud of you.
