Ammanford end poor run

-

AMMANFORD Town ended a run of four games without a win as they cruised to a 4-1 victory over lowly Ton Pentre in division one of the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League.

Liam Samuel handed Ammanford the perfect start with an early strike before Mathew Fisher added a second on the counter.

Fisher turned provider to set up Ricky Martin for the third goal before Brett Enoch capped off a superb victory with a ferocious effort that went in off the crossbar.

Leroy Thomas ruined Ammanford’s clean sheet in the dying seconds with a late consolation.

Ammanford stay 12th in the division ahead of Saturday’s home clash with struggling Port Talbot Town, who were hammered 6-1 by Goytre United at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Garden Village’s fixture with Aberbargoed Buds in division two was one of those to fall victim to the wet weather which caused a number of postponements.

Village are 13th in the table and could do with some points in order to pull clear of the danger zone.

And they will be hopeful of returning to action on Saturday when they make the trip east to face mid-table Monmouth Town.

Monmouth beat former Welsh League champions Caerau Ely 2-1 at the weekend.
