Queens duo storm to final victory

THERE was some high-quality action as the divisional pairs tournament was played at two venues in the New Carmarthen and District Men’s Winter Darts League sponsored by Gremlin Club.

The division two event was staged at the Railway Club and in a night of surprises the semifinals saw Elfed Davies and Chris Pither (Queens A) take out Jason Davies and John Richards (Coracle B) 3-1. And the Mansel Arms duo of Paul Gibbs and Josh Walsh reached the final by defeating Nigel Jenkins and Jay Griffith (Gremlins) 3-1.

An enjoyable final saw the experience of Davies and Pither count as they claimed a 3-1 victory for the title.

The Gremlin Club was the venue for the division one games.

It was an evening of consistently high scoring and the semifinals did not disappoint.

Matt Shearsby and Graham Slate (Queens B) missed crucial doubles in losing 3-1 to Chris Jenkins and Dylan Stone (Black Lion), while a see-saw match saw Dan Bates and Steve Hancock (Railway B) hold their nerve for a 3-2 success over Wayne Rees and Peter Evans (Coracle A).

A high-quality final produced an exciting climax to the evening, with Bates and Hancock taking the title 3-1.
