Drop-off point for food banks

-

FFORWM Llanelli will be providing a drop-off point for Christmas donations to both Myrtle House and Antioch food banks until Sunday.

Organiser Mary Roll said: “It is very sad, not to say shameful, that so many people are being left by the wayside in the wake of high-power struggles they cannot comprehend or influence. As always, the weakest and most vulnerable are hit hardest, and far from seeing progress and improved conditions in our lifetimes, we are witnessing a shocking deterioration in the quality of life of many.”

A typical food parcel includes cereal, soup, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes/pasta sauce, lentils, beans and pulses, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, tinned fruit, biscuits, UHT milk and fruit juice. Urgently needed items include tinned fruit (400g), tea bags (80s), dried pasta (500g), UHT milk and breakfast cereals.
