Crwbin Band Christmas concert On Friday the band holds its Christmas concert with Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth pupils in the Memorial Hall from 7pm. Ticket available from the hall reception desk on 01269 871075. Clwb Hamdden At last month’s leisure club meeting Margaret Roberts was welcomed back after her recent illness. Pick-up times confirmed for the Christmas dinner at The White Hart, Llandeilo. The guest speaker was Mary Thorley who gave an enjoyable and informative power point presentation of Carmarthen at Christmas during Victorian and Edwardian eras, especially on the cultural and material divide between rich and poor. Lacking entertainment for the masses, the visiting fairs and circuses proved most popular. A vote of thanks was given by chairman Cy Rees to the speaker and the technical assistant Eric Lewis. The event concluded with light refreshments. Club membership is £10 per year. Events include various speakers, trips, summer holiday and Christmas dinner. The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Bancffosfelen and Crwbin Hall.
