THE shortlist for the highly prestigious West Wales Business Awards 2019 can now be revealed.

The event, run by WalesOnline along with sister papers the Carmarthen Journal and the Llanelli Star, recognises and celebrates the diverse range of businesses in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

The black tie event will take place on Friday, January 18 at Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli, with doors opening at 6.45pm.

The event will be compered by journalist and TV presenter, Frances Donovan and special guest speaker will be Damon Rands, CEO of Wolfberry Cyber Security.

The judging panel met at the end of November to decide on the shortlist.

The judges were Swansea Evening Post, Carmarthen Journal and the Llanelli Star editor, Jonathan Roberts, along with University of Wales Trinity Saint David business lecturer, Jessica Shore, and Nigel Williams, Castell Howell finance director, who were last year’s overall Business of the Year.

Mr Roberts said: “The West Wales Business Awards is a hugely important event on the calendar for the region and a great way to start the new year.

“The diverse categories show the myriad businesses we have in the region, something we should be very proud of.

“Every year I am impressed by the businesses nominated, and it is always a difficult task to whittle down the entries for the shortlist.

“Congratulations to all those shortlisted and we look forward to welcoming you to Stradey Park Hotel in January.”
