Reds are top at Christmas

MATCHROOM Reds enjoy a healthy lead at the top of the Llanelli Snooker League after a 4-3 victory at Tycroes RFC A.

It came courtesy of Thomas Williams, Paul Thomas and Phil Williams, who knocked in an 87 break. Keith Jones, Steve Francis and Robert King replied.

Upper Tumble Blues won 4-3 at Snooker World. And Jamie Tudor’s break of 59, added to wins by Barry Follows, Rob Hughes and Gavin Lewis, helped Morfa post a 5-2 win at Trimsaran A. Mike Lloyd and Mark Foreman struck for Trim.

Johnny Wilcox (50), Keith Murrell and Mike Davies won for Gorseinon Workmen’s, edged out 4-3 at Burry Port Legion. Peter Harper, James White and Rob Davies helped the latter win the aggregate by two points.

Damien Lonergan, Kevin Selwood, Kieren Evans (39) and Emyr Bowen earned Pontyberem Workmen’s a 5-2 win at Pontarddulais Workmen’s A. Adam Griffiths and Dean Marston hit back for Bont.

Llandybie Social were 6-1 winners at Llanelli Cons A thanks to the efforts of Roger Morgan, Tim Walters, Huw Morgan, Lyndsey Pugh and Peter Howatson. Only Nick Smith’s frame win avoided the whitewash for Cons.

Llandybie A also made the last eight of the Worthington Cup with a 5-2 win at Cons B.

Reading Room Reds needed the aggregate to edge past New Lodge A thanks to Phil Payne, Steve Gower and Kieran Leaf. Lodge’s winning trio were Adrian Dix, Darren Williams and Michael Wood.

Chris Davies (49), Tyler Rees, Leighton Davies and Ashley Edwards kept the Matchroom Whites bandwagon rolling with a 5-2 win against Reading Room Blues. Chris Howells and Steve Greaney struck for the Burry Port men.

Cross Hands B sit at the top of division two after seeing off Llanesco 5-2. Their wins came via Alex Dickie, Adrian Phillips, Jeff Jones and Mark Davies. Ions Malcolm and Ian Davies replied.

Ponthenri Social jumped to second after a 5-2 victory over Bryn thanks to Jeff Howells, Craig Howells, Alun James and Stephen Rees. Roy Richards and D. Evans struck for Bryn.

Cross Hands A hammered Llanelli Cons B 7-0.

Chris Griffiths, Jordan Dubesky and Gethin Daniel gave Pontarddulais Workmen’s B an aggregate 4-3 success at CGMD. For the Fishermen, Mike Dance, Mike Llewelyn and Ray Evans won.

Leighton Cole, Derek Morgan and Roy Morgan helped New Lodge B nick an aggregate 4-3 win against Tycroes RFC B, for whom Mike Davies, Colin Jones and Matthew Davies won.

Llandybie RFC bagged a 6-1 victory against Pont Cons thanks to the efforts of Sion Isaac, Simon Williams, Dar Sigsworth, Dylan Jones and Richard Davies.
