Duo recover from illness to leave rivals feeling sick

-

CARDIFF Blues duo Rey Lee-Lo and Blaine Scully were both vomiting before Saturday’s emphatic win over the Scarlets.

The centre and wing both played key roles in the 34-5 victory, with Lee-Lo scoring two tries and Scully setting up another.

And Blues boss John Mulvihill revealed there was every chance they weren’t going to play, with Harri Millard on standby ready to take their place.

“Credit to Rey, he’d been sick all day and vomited before the game,” said head coach John Mulvihill.

“We thought we might have to take him out, Harri Millard was on standby, but he played 80.

“Blaine Scully was vomiting before the game and at half-time and he played 80.

“I knew Blaine was a little bit off because he didn’t say anything in the warm-up and usually he’s full of beans.

“He just wanted to play for 80 minutes.”

On centres Lee-Lo and Willis Halaholo, Mulvihill added: “It’s good to get them both playing well at the same time.

“This year, we’ve had one playing really well and one a little bit off.”
