Leaders beat Carmarthen
CARMARTHEN B were beaten 26-11 by Premier division leaders Penlan A in the Swansea and District Table Tennis League.
Josh Morgan and Craig Henton both won 8-3 and Josh Jenkins 7-4. The result was achieved without their top two players, Marc Castro and Jarrad Zhang.
Second place is constantly changing and last week saw Penyrheol A jump four places after beating Penlan E 28-8, Paul Karabardak winning 9-0 and Dennis Bromage 9-1.
Penlan C also moved up several places into third after a 28-9 victory over Carmarthen A, with Au Yeung Nancy winning 9-1 and Jacob Young 9-2.
Betws Rugby Club, with their game in hand, can still trouble the top group. They stayed in touch with a 27-5 win over bottom side Cam Gears B, Catherine Jones winning 9-0 and Darren Beer 9-1. A good win in their outstanding game will put Betws right up among the top teams.
Penlan D moved away from the relegation places with a fine 27-12 win over Carmarthen C thanks to young international Grace Clement winning 9-0.
In division one, Tata Steel (Port Talbot) B beat Penyrheol C, Phil Avery and Mostyn Lewis winning 9-2.
