Workshop offers window into world of policing during recruitment drive
THE Dyfed-Powys Police force is recruiting new constables.
As part of the recruitment drive a series of application workshops will take place across the force.
Llanelli will host one of those workshops tomorrow between 6pm and 8pm at Glenalla Civic Hall and Community Centre.
Superintendent Ifan Charles, head of learning and development at the force said: “Becoming a police officer is a challenging and rewarding career, but it is not just any job.
“You will work to reduce crime and the fear of crime, and promote confidence among local people that the police understand and are prepared to deal with issues that matter most to them.”
Applications open from January 28, until midday on February 15.
Superindendent Charles added: “If you join us you will play a key role in supporting victims and witnesses and providing reassurance to people who have been subjected to crime and antisocial behaviour.
“Many people will look to you for guidance and protection from such experiences.
“You’ll be a person who thrives on challenges, and is willing to work hard to learn the skills necessary for this difficult but critical role.
“This can be a tough and unpredictable job, but it is also an extremely rewarding position.”
