Clwb Hamd­den Leisure Club mem­bers met on March 12 at Bancf­fos­fe­len and Cr­w­bin Hall for their monthly gath­er­ing. Chair­man Ann Langabeer ex­tended sym­pa­thy to club mem­bers Jean Lewis and Edna Breed on the sad loss of their brother Vi­vian Wilkins. Best wishes were sent to Ken Bowen, who is a pa­tient at Prince Philip Hospi­tal. The club’s first day trip of the sea­son was con­firmed. The meet­ing con­tin­ued with cawl and caws in cel­e­bra­tion of St David’s Day; once again an ex­cel­lent meal was pro­vided by Ge­gin Fach Y Wlad. A vote of thanks was given by the chair­man. Mem­bers were re­minded the meet­ing for Tues­day, April 9, be­gins at 6pm. The guest speaker then will be Owain Wil­liams talk­ing about ‘Be­hind Bars’. New mem­bers al­ways wel­come.

Car boot sales These con­tinue on Satur­day, April 6, weather per­mit­ting, at the har­bour field, Burry Port at £5 per car. Vans, cars with trail­ers, camper vans and peo­ple car­ri­ers £8. Large vans and trade sellers £15. No more than two ta­bles or ad­di­tional ta­bles are £2 each. No reser­va­tion of pitches as they are on a first come, first served ba­sis. Please do not set up or ar­rive be­fore 7am for the ben­e­fit of vol­un­teers and nearby houses. Please re­move all un­sold items and litter be­fore you leave. Litter pick The Pem­brey and Burry Port Grab and Bag vol­un­teer group will be meet­ing at Y Graig by the Farm­ers Arms pub (now closed) SN 446 015 on Fri­day, April 12, from 10am to noon. All equip­ment is pro­vided but please be sure to bring a pair of gloves. As well as clean­ing up our lo­cal ar­eas vol­un­teers can also sign up to re­ceive time cred­its. Friends of Ten­ovus Can­cer Care The Pem­brey and Burry Port friends have a Meet with Us group on the first Tues­day of the month from 6.30-7.30pm in Pem­brey Church Hall, Ran­dell Square, Pem­brey.
