A busy summer in store with triathlon event the launch

A HOST of events for all ages will be provided by Healthy Life Activities this coming triathlon season.

Venues such as Carmarthen, Ammanford and Llanelli are expected to welcome hundreds of triathletes to the fixtures.

With 130 events organised over the last 18 years, Noelwyn Daniel, Sharon Daniel and the team at Healthy Life Activities have run quality events, with competitors returning.

The opening event of the 2019 season in Carmarthenshire will be held at Amman Valley Leisure Centre on Sunday, April 14 (7.15am) with the Amman Valley Sprint Triathlon.

It consists of a 400m pool swim, 16km bike ride and a 5km run. It has become a favourite, with all 350 spaces sold out in a few weeks.

Attention then turns to the opening junior event with the return of the Carmarthen Junior Fun Triathlon in the grounds of Carmarthen Leisure Centre in Johnstown on Saturday, April 27 (4pm). The event is open to youngsters aged from eight to 14.

Carmarthen is also looking forward to hosting the Mayor’s 5k and Children’s Races on May Day Bank Holiday.
