Commuity awards shortlist is revealed

THE shortlist has been selected for the 2019 West Wales Community Awards.

All the winners will be announced at our glittering awards ceremony on Friday, May 24, at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli, starting at 6.45pm.

The event promises to be a celebration of people who are considered to have made a real difference to life in our communities or who have displayed outstanding courage, generosity or kindness.

Judging took place last week and our judges were: Jonathan Roberts, editor of the Carmarthen Journal and Llanelli Star; Jacky Jones, executive director from overall sponsor BMI Werndale Hospital; and Delme Thomas, former Llanelli, Wales and Lions rugby star.

Jacky Jones, from overall sponsor BMI Werndale, said: “It was a pleasure to be on the judging panel and inspiring to read the nominations for each category, a truly difficult task to choose winners from such a worthy field.”
