High-tech access to libraries

LIBRARY users could soon access their records from the comfort of their own home.

Carmar thenshire Council has invested in a new library management system which is the latest technology and will also allow staff to contact users by email or text.

It will replace the current system from the end of April, and is in line with other local authority libraries.

The council’s executive board member for libraries, Councillor Peter Hughes-Griffiths said: “This new system is the very latest in technology and gives library users more control over their library records.”

He added: “Please bear with us while the new system is being installed.”
