Ail Gyfle/Second Chance curry night Second Chance (Ail Gyfle) will be holding a curry night on Friday, May 3, at the Red Lion Hotel in Llandyfael­og. Tickets are available from any of the Committee members.

Golden wedding Celebratin­g their golden wedding this week will be John and Janice Davies of Broadford Farm. They are very well known and popular members of the community and very involved in village life. They have two sons who are both married. Keith, working away at present and David, who has made his life in Australia. They also have two grandchild­ren. We, as villagers, wish them a very happy anniversar­y and a happy future. Bingo Sessions are held at Clwb Rygbi Mynyddygar­reg every Wednesday evening at 7pm. Probus Kidwelly Probus hold their April meeting on April 24 in the usual conference room at the Gwenllian Centre at 10am. New members welcome.

Ty Golau holds a weekly session at Mynyddygar­reg Welfare Hall. Ty Golau is a group for people with slight memory problems, Alzheimer’s or dementia type illnesses. The sessions are from 10.30am to noon every Wednesday. Activities include reminiscen­ces, themed quizzes, sing-a-longs, music and movement and lots more. Get well Best wishes to get well soon is sent to Derek Garrett, who is still a patient at Glangwili Hospital and to anyone else who is not in the best of health at the moment.

Probus The next Probus meeting will be on April 24 – the fourth Wednesday of April – at 10am in the conference room at the rear of the Princess Gwenllian Centre. Senior Citizens The Mynyddygar­reg Senior Citizens over 50s Club held their April meeting in Mynyddygar­reg Hall on Wednesday, April 3. The meeting was well attended with 28 members including the officers. Chairwoman, Jean Fox, opened the meeting. Minutes of last month’s meeting were read by secretary Regina Morgan and they were passed as being correct. Trips were discussed – the first one being a mystery trip on May 7. Names to be given to treasurer, Christine Hughes. Venues of further trips were discussed and voted upon. A raffle was held and won by Dorothy and a game of bingo played and won by Miriam Greville. Birthday tributes were made and best wishes to members unable to be present. Nice to see Anne Moone back after her accident. Thanks to the tea ladies who served tea with biscuits. Next
