GREAT DEALS ON LAST-MINUTE HOLIDAYS
AN ARRESTING PROPOSITION
THE former HQ of the Met Police is set to be a place to escape to rather than from. It opens later this year as The Great Scotland Yard Hotel, the UK’s first Hyatt Unbound hotel after a £110million refurb.
Behind the restored elegant Edwardian facade of the five-star seven-storey property are 153 rooms, including 11 suites, some with terraces looking out at Buckingham Palace, Nelson’s Column and Westminster.
Basement cells, where it’s said Rudolf Hess, Deputy Führer to Adolf Hitler, was interrogated, have been transformed into a gym, ballroom and VIP rooms. Room rates to be announced.
