Cel­e­bra­tion for young Quins

THERE was much to cel­e­brate for Car­marthen Quins’ ju­nior sec­tion as cup ac­tion took cen­tre stage.

The un­der-12s faced lo­cal ri­vals Car­marthen Ath­letic in the Car­marthen­shire Cup fi­nal. And in glo­ri­ous con­di­tions the young Quins turned in a work­man­like per­for­mance to claim an ex­cel­lent 15-5 vic­tory.

Next up were the un­der-13s, who were up against it as they faced their bo­gey side Burry Port.

In a heart-stop­ping game

Car­marthen Quins Un­der-12s. that went to the wire, the Quins claimed the cup at the death with a match-win­ning kick.

But Burry Port claimed re­venge in the un­der-14s fi­nal as they emerged 24-15 win­ners in a game that en­ter­tained the neu­trals.

Fi­nally, the girls’ un­der-18 team hosted ar­guably the best team in Wales when Cardiff Quins came to town for a cup quar­ter-fi­nal. In a highly en­ter­tain­ing and spir­ited en­counter they just fell short 24-15. Car­marthen Quins Un­der-13s beat Burry Port. The team go on to Parc y Scar­lets in the Scar­lets Cup in May.
