Gr-eight: Ammanford hit top form to claim final spot

-

AMMANFORD Under-15s banged home eight goals in their best display of the season as they beat Dafen 8-2 in the semi-final of the Carmarthenshire Junior League’s Under-15s MJ Bush Cup.

In the final at Steboneath on May 4 (10am) they will play Seaside, who beat Loughor 2-1 in the other semi.

Within minutes of the start at the Coleg Sir Gar campus, Harry G got on the scoresheet from a pinpoint cross from the outstanding Logan Davies.

Scott Pugh soon grabbed Town’s second, this time from the opposite side of the pitch after Osian Davies put in a perfect cross for Pugh to head home.

With Ammanford in full control it was against the run of play when Dafen put a high cross into the box and the wind carried it into the top corner, giving the in-form Kieran Brook no chance.

Frontman Harry G then got into the thick of things and in an outstanding display went on to score four goals as the Dafen defence struggled to deal with him.

Ammanford’s midfield trio of Callum Thomas, Ethan Morgan and Harri Jones battled like warriors in the middle, backed up by centre-halves Jac Chapman and Tyler Davison.

Some of the play was a pleasure to watch and wide men Kellen Edwards and Evan Harrow linked well with Iestyn Richards and Harry Thomas, with all four flyers getting an assist.

In all, seven players got goal assists, with the goals taken by the two strikers Harry G (4) and Pugh (2), plus Osian Davies and Harry Thomas.
