BLUES DELIVER SEASON’S BEST

UPPER Tumble Blues claimed one of their best results of the season in the Llanelli Snooker League when they lowered the colours of Matchroom Whites 6-1 thanks to Elliott Rees (38 break), Mark Hughes, Carwyn Cue, Joe Evans and Chris Rees. Tom Twigg’s frame win prevented a whitewash.

Elsewhere, leaders Matchroom Reds were 5-2 winners against visiting Trimsaran A courtesy of Phil Williams, Andrew Rosser, Rhys Morgans and Paul Thomas. Mark Foreman and Alan Emmanuel won for Trim.

Dean Thomas, Keri Phillips, James White and Garnet Lane steered Burry Port Legion to a 5-2 victory at highflying Pontyberem, for whom Craig Rees and Kevin Selwood supplied the points.

Llanelli Cons A gained a useful 5-2 win at Gorseinon Workmen’s A, with Bernard Price, Dean Bowen, Gavin Quinnell and Paul Evans on top. Mike Dodd and Luke Murrell struck for the Brighton Road side.

Llandybie Social A edged a 4-3 aggregate win against Reading Room Blues thanks to Tim Walters, Peter Howatson and Lyndsay Pugh. Peter Kelly, Neil Roberts and Steve Greaney were on song for the Burry Port men.

Burry Port Reading Room Reds defeated Pontarddul­ais Workmen’s A 4-3 with Adrian Gower, Tony Redmond and Carl Morgan winning. Adam Griffiths, Keri Davies and Dean Marston won for the Bont side.

Rob Hughes, Nicky Hughes and Greg Davies gave Morfa Social a 4-3 win against Snooker World A. Alan Jones, John Meadows and Callum Jackson were on the ball for the Ammanford side.

Division two pace-setters Cross Hands B claimed a further 5-2 victory on their visit to Tycroes RFC B thanks to Adrian Phillips, Jeff Jones, Mal Jones and Dai Isaac. M. Davies and Marc Walters replied.

Lee O’Neill (29), David Gabe and Peter Hopkins edged a 4-3 win for Pontarddul­ais Workmen’s B against Llanesco, who hit back via Shaun Caton (33), Peter Shoulder and Mark Evans.

Similarly, New Lodge B required the aggregate point to secure a 4-3 success at Bryn & Trallwm courtesy of Leigh Lewis, George Langford and Roy Morgan.

Craig Williams, Roy Richards and Dennis Davies replied.

CGMD were 5-2 winners at Pontarddul­ais Cons, while Dylan Jones, Richard Davies, Liam McGhee and Dar Sigsworth steered Llandybie RFC to a 5-2 win at Calsonic Rivals, whose frame-winners were Aaron Cruickshan­k and James Anthony.

Greg James, Brandon Brown and Jamie Gimblett gave Great Mountain, Tumble, a 4-3 home victory against Ponthenri Social, for whom Stephen Rees, Craig Chandler and Jeff Howells chalked up wins.

Llanelli Cons B defeated Llandybie Social B 4-3 after Kev John, Paul Angelone and G. Edwards supplied wins. Steve Pearson, Howard Wood and Peter Watkins hit back for Llandybie.

Tycroes RFC B earned a rearranged 5-2 win at high-flying Ponthenri Social thanks to Marc Walters, Mike Davies, Colin Jones and Matthew Davies.

White Lion Cup finals — Div 1: Pontyberem WMC v Llandybie Social A (April 11 at Snooker World); Div 2: Llanesco v Pontarddul­ais WMC B (April 9 at Snooker World).
